2011 Scrapbooking goal
I'm not big on New Year's resolutions but I do have a semi-scrapbooking goal. I want to incorporate more funky, artsy techinques in my LO's, like paint, more texture, different mediums, and make more of my own unique embellishments. Often I don't get to all that because it's easier and faster to just throw some stuff on the LO and call it a day, but I really want to push and challenge myself more. I like the way paint really added to these two recent LO's, and that's what I want to see more of:

I'm not sure if I shared this before, but long before I discovered scrapbooking, I drew and painted. I also took private group lessons with an artist when I was in high school for a few years. So I just want to get back in touch with all that and get my hands more messy. I love paint under the fingernails. I'm even taking an online "art" class right now with Wyanne (a mixed-media artist) all about discovering your own personal style. It's my very first online art class ever! It's really great if any of you are into that.
I remember I wanted to be an artist, but that was definitely not an acceptable idea for my parents (mainly my father). He wanted me to be a doctor instead, which I did. And now it's time to invest time in being who I am! Thanks for reading :)

Harmonie January Challenge
Harmonie's January challenge is up on their blog - use at least 3 stamped images as embellishments. This LO is about my parents, on the day of their wedding, and is appropriately called "Young Love". I stamped several images and cut them out to use as embellishments.

I loved the chipboard shapes - I covered some of them with texture medium and then colored them. It gave them a more textured, antique look I cut all the flowers out of the pretty paper with my Sizzix and then covered their edges with stickles, and the butterflies are also punched from the paper.
Supplies:
Blizzard Paper - PA071, PA072, PA073
Blizzard Brads - BR019, BR022
Blizzard Stamps - 52036
White Letter Peel Offs
New Fall 2010 Release Stamps - Dress Form (36057) and Dove (39016)
New Fall 2010 Release Precut Chipboard Shapes - CH090
And I also made a little Birthday Card. I used the front of the pp for the base and the back to punch out the border with a lace border punch. I made the card for my good friend, and her favorite color is purple, so this line was perfect for it.

Supplies:
Bella Bohemia Paper
And the beautiful purple flowers are Creative Charms, of course.
The Chipboard butterfly is Scrapmatts.
The pearls swirls is ZVA Creative.

Creative Charms Deal of the Month LO
This month I got to play with the Deal of the Month...and it's packed full and I'm very pleased that I have a lot of pretty bling and pearls left over to savor later :) The Deal this month is somewhat Valentine-themed, so I had to do a LO about my DH and I.

Supplies:
Bling and Red Hearts: Deal of the Month Kit
Vintage Poppies with Pearl Brads - IVORY
And awesome news - Creative Charms will be doing WEEKLY giveaways!!! This week, we're giving away a free kit of the month!! Wow. All you have to do is go to Facebook and comment on what you think of it, and we'll do a random drawing of the comments. I LOVE this kit and it even has some velvet flowers - which is my absolute favorite Creative Charms item...and I've tried them all :)
Also wonderful news - although Creative Charms chooses a new DT every 3 months, and the DT is limited to 2 terms (so 6 months total...which is what I'll have end of January), I get to stay on for another term! Yay! I love all the little embellishments they make.

Zoo Trip Acrylic Mini Album
I have another mini I wanted to share with you. It's a heart-shaped acrylic mini - well, actually two of them, that I combined together. I had lots of pics. It came out really thick, so I tied the pages together with a ribbon. I used WP Petite Papers, from their Nature's Storybook and Garden Gala lines. I also used the petite vellums and die-cut papers from those lines. This is our trip to the Zoo back in June 2006...DD was so cute back then. Lots of fun pics and memories.
