Mini Printer's Tray

My dad will be visiting his long-time friends next month, and he had a photo of all of them together from 10 years ago that he wanted to give them. SO he asked me to make something for him - his only requirement was that it be "not too big" and that I include a quote form a song (which I did, on the back of the tray - see last pic). The tray is small - about 7"x7", which is really cute. I used Prima "Almanac" A4 pp pad and lots of metal Tim Holtz embellies - clock, gears, corners for the tray, pen nib, as well as the bottles, etc. The metal flower and butterfly are actually from Creative Charms. The laser-cut chipboard sign and scroll are from Scrapmatts, and I finished them off with WOW Embossing Powder.

Oh Happy Day

I made a quick card using Scrapmatts laser-cut chipboard - I used their kite and flower, and finished both off with WOW Embossing powder. The card base is by Canvas Corp and already came pre-printed with the background.

Christmas in July!

Imaginisce is having a "Christmas in July" week all this week on their BLOG, in honor of the new release of their Christmas line, "Holiday Cheer". I wanted to share one of the layouts I made, "Dec. 25th". I just love this paper - the colors and patterns were really easy to work with. This is DS on Christmas 2011, opening his gifts from Santa :)

Good Times :)

A long post today because I'm sharing a mini album I did for Punky Sprouts - this is the newly released "Punk-a-licious" mini album and it's huge - 6"x12", actually, and a ton of pages. I also added a canvas page from a different Punky mini album. I used the new Bo Bunny pp "Little Miss" and the journaling arrow stamp that I used on many of the pages is from Cocoa Daisy. DH asked me to make him an album to keep at work, and this is the pp he picked out (I cave him lots of choices :) The vines, sun, clouds, tree, mushroom, etc are all from Flourish With A Bling.

Here's a video I made where I go over the mini:

Thanks for taking a look! Make sure to stop by often this coming week, since I will be having daily blog posts :)

Everyday Inspiration!

Imaginice challenged the DT to scrap something inspired by an everyday item. Well, here's my everyday item (and yes, I mean every.single.day) that really inspires me. Every evening when I really want one, I always look forward to the next morning so I can get my hands on it :) Here it is:

Gorgeous, isn't it? (And don't let anyone tell you it's not addictive, either...when I was pregnant with DS and had to stop, every day I looked forward to finally being able to go right back to my habit).

Anyhoo, here's the LO I scrapped with a little can right in front of me. I got the silver, red, and blue, as well as the theme of life sped up (time, flying butterflies, etc.):

What do you guys think, do you see the inspiration? If you want to read more about it, check out the Imaginisce BLOG - it's up today.

I also used the Imaginisce mini iron to iron on a stud flourish - I love how these adhere so permanently, without any glue lines or sticky lines showing:

The gorgeous black and white flowers and butterflies are all from Creative Charms (I still have a little lovely stash left over from back when I was on their DT :)

Mixin' and matchin'

For this week, the Imaginisce DT were challenged to create a project using at least 3 different collections. I always love to mix and match, so this was a fun one. I used "Makin' Waves", "Hello Cupcake" and "Hippity Hop" to create this LO about my daughter.

Misting Ideas

Hi everyone, today I wanted to share a layout where I used a fun technique - I used my FWAB flourish as a mask for misting - if you'd like to see the step-by-step photo tutorial, please check out the FWAB Blog - HERE. Here's the result I got:

Some Odd Girl

Sadly, my DT term with Some Odd Girl is coming to an end this month. I had such a great time working with Kristy and the rest of the team, and getting to play with the amazing Nouveau girls. As this is my last project, I wanted to make something for my “me” scrap album that would really help me remember my time with Some Odd Girl. I decided to make a layout incorporating all of the 8 available Nouveau girl stamp sets that I got to work with over the last 6 months.

I used a more muted collection – this is “Butterfly Garden” by Pink Paislee – to make sure that everything went well together and none of the elements overshadowed any of the others. This collection also had a lot of great subtle prints, such as pale text in the background, etc., which made it perfect for stamping the girls on it. I love the effect of stamping on patterned paper. It makes for a very artsy and collage-like effect. The words, sentiments, and cloud, I also got from the stamp sets. I added just a touch of color to the girls’ lips.

hope you guys liked my layout. I think stamping your images on the more muted B-sides of the paper collection you’re working with is a great way to get an embellishment that will match and enhance your layout. Thanks for stopping by!

More July challenges!!

July is here, and I have a few new challenges for you.

Punky Sprouts challenge for July is to create something using a color you usually don't use. Go to the BLOG for more details. For me, that color is orange. I made a LO using Punky Sprouts Lil' Lacy Blossoms and the pp I used is "Sketchbook" by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts.

Some Odd Girl July challenge is also up, and this month it's a sketch - see the BLOG for more details. I used the stamps set "Grow" and the "She Art" line from Pink Paislee.

Also, be sure to check out the Imaginisce BLOG for the July challenge - this month, the challenge is to create something with the word "Sun" on it, or the image of a sun.
