Cards for Charity!

Hi guys, Imaginsice is supporting a really wonderful charity this year - Share A Card. They accept handmade cards which they then mail out to people who are sick, confined to their homes, dying, etc.
Every year they hold a Holiday Card Project - they receive thousands of seasonal cards which they send out to many, many people and this just brightens their day.

Here's a brief note from Kath, the organizer of Share-a-card.
"The only cards we ask not be sent are “Get Well”. Our “Features” are all at different stages of their illnesses and sadly, some won’t get well Sad smile We accept cheerful cards of any other sort...We feature birthdays each month and holidays (we have a HUGE holiday card project each year) thinking of you, praying for you,etc... No card is ever turned away. Cards can be blank OR signed with their first name and state of origin (our features love to see how far they come). ..they can be in envelopes or NOT..we accept them any way they come. They all get packaged into a larger box or envelope so sending them in an envy isn’t necessary.

Our Holiday Card Project begins in late September/October and we collect Christmas/Holiday cards until the 1st of Dec at which time we begin sorting and boxing them up. Last year, we collected and distributed almost 9000 cards from Girl Scout groups/church groups/Card making Groups/Our Members/Scrappers/Schools etc... It is such a terrific project. While we’re preparing our cookies and packages and shopping for a joyous occasion, these people are so ill from the illnesses or undergoing treatments and we forget that the holidays can be depressing for the shut in. This project helps cheer them. I look forward to this event every year!"

The mailing address is: (PLEASE don't delay in mailing it out as they have a lot of cards to sort through. The deadline to receive the cards is Dec 1st).

4th of July Mini!

A cute little mini to share today - this is using the Punky Sprouts Teenie Beanie mini album - it's got some banner-shaped chipboard pages, some bracket-shaped chipboard pages, and some canvas pages that I used for the covers. The paper I used is "Persnickety" by Lily Bee - we had an exchange with them in September, and this line is very modern and fresh, and was so lovely to work with. Some of the laser-cut chipboard words that you see are by Scrapmatts. This is just a little mini to remember the quick photo shoot we had this past 4th of July, and it's called "The 4th".

Discover

I love love love the Miss Caroline line by My Mind's Eye! The woodgrain was so gorgeous in that collection. The Scrapmatts DT were challenged to create a project using black, white, and one other color - I picked teal. The laser-cut chipboard butterflies, word "Discover", and large circle are all by Scrapmatts. The black flourish and the small grey silk flower are all by Flourish With A Bling.

Imaginisce October Challenge!

The Imaginsice challenge for October is up on their blog HERE - it's a color challnege this month! Make sure you enter for the chance to win a nice prize package :)

Here's my take on it (the really cute black vine is by Flourish With a Bling):

And before I go, I wanted to share another recent LO using a couple different Imaginsice lines. The DT were challenged to create a non-traditionally shaped layout (no squares, circles, etc.), as well as use the I-Top (no challenge there....LOVE that tool!), and to use the color orange, and 3 different patterned papers...and here's the result :)

Flourish With A Bling October Challenge!

The FWAB October challenge is here, and it's such a fun one! Check out the rules and detail HERE. Basically, you are to use bling on a boy layout....since I love bling, this challenge was not too difficult for me ;) The gorgeous blue pearl flourish, the raindrop embellies and the beach hut embellies are all from FWAB. The paper is some older pp from my stash from many years ago - it's by Fancy Pants, and I think it was called "On A Whimsy". The really cool laser-cut chipboard flowers are by Scrapmatts.

Puzzle project update!

Do you guys remember this puzzle I made for Some Odd Girl stamps? It was a graduation gift for DD a few months ago.

Well, I FINALLY (I know, a little slow...) finished it off with a frame and hung it up in DD's room - looks super cute and girly there :) I used a cheap wooden frame from IKEA. The background pp is from the "Persnickety" collection by Lily Bee. The pearl trip was from Scarlett and the gems in the corners are from Webster's Pages. The blue flowers are from Prima and the pretty silk flower with diamond center is by Flourish With a Bling. The black leaves and black pearl flourish are also by Flourish With a Bling.

Happy Birthday...to me!

LOL, thought I'd stop by and wish myself a Happy Birthday. Also, had a LO I wanted to share. The Imaginsice DT were challenged to use the Snag 'Em stamps. I made a LO using paper and stamps from the "Sole Sister's" collection. This is DD and I on Mother's Day. I used the stamps to stamp the flower trio in a couple places, and to stamp the journaling spot on white cardstock.

And...wanted to share some really awesome news! I am joining a new design team - the Sweet Nothings Stamp Co. You should check out the site - Lina (owner, illustrator) makes the cutest digi stamps for coloring.

Back to School :)

This is Morgan going off on that big yellow bus - first day of Kn, from a few years ago (she started 3rd grade a couple weeks ago already!). I used a TON of the I-Top from Imaginisce here to make all the awesome brads. The pp is Imaginisce "Sole Sisters" - I love how versatile that line is...the primary colors are really great for a back to school LO.

Pumpkin Patch!

Yep, that season is almost here. Dexter LOVED the pumpkin patch, especially the hayrides, and he can't wait to go again! I was lucky enough to be one of the CHA giveaway winners from the BO Bunny blog, and I won the "Apple Cider" collection! I used a Scrapmatts laser-cut chipboard frame that I added texture paste to, and lots of various coloring mediums. The gorgeous cloth flowers and black bling swirls are all from Flourish With A Bling.

Scrapmatts lift challenge

The Challenge this month at Scrapmatts is to scraplift a DT member's work. The DT all joined in and I lifted one of the very, very talented Sonia Thomason's gorgeous LO "Lovely". The pp is Prima's "Fairy Belle"...and here's the result, titled "Joy" (I used Scrapmatts laser-cut chipboard flowers and name-plate):
