Another Bo Bunny sketch!

I also wanted to play along with the LO sketch challenge for June, and I dipped into my scraps, and mixed a couple different Bo Bunny lines together - I just love using up the very last bits :) I gotta tell you, I totally love Bo Bunny, and how well a lot of their lines mix and match. This is my son just a few weeks ago, on Mother's Day. I added some zipper trim on the bottom border again. I've been loving this trim lately, it seems.

Bo Bunny Card challenge!

Bo Bunny always has the best sketches for monthly card and layout sketches, and I couldn't resist dipping into my 6x6 paper pack of Gabriella for the card. I made a little "Thanks" card. I still love this paper, isn't it amazing? The flourish is by Flourish With A Bling - this is the Jasmine puffy flourish in white. I inked it lightly with a beige to make it fit the vintage, distressed feel better. I love how well these flourishes take chalk ink.

My cowgirl :)

Today, I have a page about my daughter. The paper I used is the Miss Caroline - Fiddlesticks collection from My Mind's Eye (Loooveeeeee this paper!!). I also used buttons and denim banner from Punky Sprouts and the color spray is from Lindy's Stamp Gang. The gorgeous flourish and clods and sun are all from Flourish With a Bling (they're wholesale only, so unless you're a business, you can't buy directly from them - but you can always request for your LSS to start stocking them :) So, here's the page:

A Nouveau Puzzle!

I have a really fun project to share with you, using the lovely Nouveau girl stamp set "Grow". I used the girl, the clouds, and the sentiment. I decided it would be fun to make a puzzle for Morgan. This is a "puzzle card" by Inakdinkado, but I saw wooden blank puzzles at ACMoore about this size as well.

To make the puzzle, I stamped the girl and the clouds first, and colored them in with Copic markers. I was careful to stamp in such a way that the most important part - the face and the hand with the apple - ended up on one puzzle piece, so there would be no lines going through them. I then created masks by stamping the girl and clouds on scrap paper and cutting them out. After covering the girl and clouds, I used a grass stamp to make the grass, which I then colored with Copics. After that, I covered with images with the masks again, and used a background stamp and sky blue ink to create the "sky" background. If you're making a puzzle for a younger kid, it might be better to create a less uniform background - a uniform background like this increases the difficulty level of the puzzle. After that, I stamped the sentiment and added rub-ons from my old stash.

Below is the puzzle assembled, and then disassembled. I am planning on putting it in an envelope labeled "Congrats Grad" to celebrate my daughter finishing 2nd grade. She kept asking me what "Grad" meant, since we've been seeing that word everywhere this time of year, and I know she will be thrilled to get a little gift for being a "grad" herself. I hope you guys liked my project - it was so fun to put together and these gorgeous stamps are perfect for small canvases such as this.

Treasures Mini Album

This mini that I made as a gift for my mom's 60th birthday last year recently appeared in the April issue of Scrapbook Trends Create Idea Book on Mini Albums, so I wanted to get it back on my blog, since I had to take it down for publication :) I used Scrapmatts laser cut chipboard and the pp is Bo Bunny's "Gabrielle" collection. The mini itself is a mixed media gate-fold mini album by Punky Sprouts.

Here it is in the magazine:

And here is the min itself:

Le Cirque, Monkey Bars Style!

My son is such a daredevil - here he is doing Cirque du Soleil on the monkey bars. This Le Cirque pp was just perfect for it, and for the "paint splatters", I used WOW Ebony Embossing Powder - it's REALLY black. The gorgeous teal swirl is the Jasmine flourish by Flourish With A Bling, as is the red-blue-yellow-green little banner - I cut it in half to add it to a couple places on the LO (it comes from the Nicky's Beach Huts set).

Some Odd Girl June Challnege

And I have a challenge to share with you guys, from some Odd Girl. Be sure to check out their blog for details, info on prizes, and of course the challenge itself - it was a color challenge this time. The colors definitely were a bit of a stretch for me, and made me dig deep into my stash for some older Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love" collection. But then again, I love anything that inspires me to minimize on my stash! LOL I used the "Renew" stamp set - she's from the Nouveau Girls line and I colored her with Copics.

Imaginisce June Challenge!

Wow...June already!?

Imaginisce is having a sketch challenge this month, so be sure to check out the blog for rules, details, and the sketch itself, of course. I made a LO based on the sketch - "1,000 Leagues Under The Sea". That novel seems to go along with the whole steampunk feel, and my son's goggles really made me think of it too, so I did an underwater steampunk-y LO. Hope you guys like :)

As you can see, it was a super fun sketch to work with!

Possibilities Abound

I used some of my favorite paper - Bo Bunny "Et Cetera" collection to do a LO about my daughter. I just love the look of the entire collection and I helped it out by adding to the "mess" :) The gorgeous laser-cut clock and butterflies are all by Scrapmatts. And I finally got to dig into my new Flourish With a Bling Goodies - I used the gorgeous Grace Flourish (copper color). This LO was a lot of fun to put together.

I made jewelry...?!

Yes, I am still in disbelief - I had good reason, since the Imaginisce DT is making jewelry all this week, using the Imaginisce Magni-Top jewelry supplies. A word of caution - I have never made jewelry before. I have never even made charms. So this was definitely a challenge for me, but luckily, the Magni-Top settings simplified things a great deal. I needed all the help I could get :) I decided to use Magni-Top earrings - I combined Irish linen with metal and crystal beads for a vintage, shabby, but still elegant look. I extended the original earrings by adding the crystal beads, and I used the small Magni-Top daddies and covered them in linen. Take my word for it - this was actually very easy to do. There is no learning curve here, since I came into it with no knowledge of jewelry making whatsoever. Let's just say that I'm pleased...and somewhat surprised, that the result is actually wearable! LOL

Thinking of You

I just love this stamp from Some Odd Girl (colored here with Copics), and this gorgeous laser-cut chipboard frame from Scrapmatts. Their frames are ideal for stamped images. I used my new 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye - On The Bright Side (One).

{Future} Space Explorer

A page about my sweet boy - my space-explorer-to-be. I got the idea for this LO from his shirt (loved that t-shirt!) and the October Afternoon paper was absolutely perfect for it. The gorgeous laser-cut chipboard clock and laser-cut chipboard gears are all from Scrapmatts. For the gears, I used WOW Embossing glitter "Platinum Sparkle" - it's just like glitter, except you heat set it, so it doesn't come off. Gotta love that :) I also used Maya Road white zipper trim for the border around the large clock, and 7 Gypsies tissue tape to put the title on.
